I really could do without all this romance stuff in the episodes. I definitely don't want there to be a love triangle! It's been hinted at since the beginning of Scooby-Doo series that Fred and Daphne like each other. They should just leave it at that! I agree that it should just be Fred and Daphne.

I am not looking forward to a future fight between Daphne and Fred when he finds out she kissed Shaggy. I thought Fred already found out about that. In this episode, Shaggy said it but Fred wasn't paying attention. I am still behind with episodes, so maybe it did happen already!

LOL. I like how you crossed out Shaggy. That was a nice touch.

I reaallllyy loved this episode. I love the Shining, and when you combine that sort of mood with Scooby Doo Mystery Inc there was little doubt I would enjoy this episode. The villain was sort of ho-hum (loved how happy he was to be going to jail at the end) but his methods were cool. Shaggy/Daphne was hilarious and horrified my gf as we watched the episode. Great stuff.

This was a really good episode, and a nice homage to the Shining. Since no one was hurt in the episode and nothing stolen, I guess the jailable crime would be intentionally allowing the use of psychotropic lumber to be burned, since it seems like most of the time he wasn't even the one starting the smoke. His lawyer might be able to get him out easy, if he so wanted that is.

I think he wouldn't get out easy because there's no real binding reason for him to stay in the library. He's crazy. Which is what is great about him.

Just watched the episode again, and was wondering if anyone knew the answer to these two questions:
1. How did Scooby dream about Dan Fluunk being the Werewolf before he knew there was a werewolf?
2. How was Dan Fluunk able to change from the green anibus mask into the full grown werewolf when he was chasing Scooby down the hall?

So I know I'm way behind everyone else and this is old news, but it's new to me and I had to comment. Finally got a chance to pick up where I left off on SD:MI, and wow these have been some great episodes. Watched Night Terrors and The Midnight Zone earlier this week and Scarebear last night. Man, these are the kind of episodes I've been waiting for. I lean more towards the spooky mystery/action side of Scooby, and these have been right up my alley. I especially loved Night Terrors. This was one of their creepiest mysteries ever. Most everything's been said already, but I loved the imagery. It had a certain 'unnatural' look to it that really added to the 'dream theme'. Even before you realized they were dreaming, it almost looked like a flashback/dream sequence throughout the time they were inside the museum. Kind of reminded me a little of the Gatorsburg Inn imagery. I also liked the way they combined that with a little of the current SD Movie look, and the classic winter outfits. More for the outdoor scenes. The contrast between the onscreen 'look' outside vs. inside was pretty cool. Like when they walked through the door, you knew they were entering into an unnatural environment. One thing I keep wondering is why the caretaker/Anubis character immediately scared off the 'Griswold' family, but allowed the Gang inside to stay awhile before slowing spooking them? And why the Dean hadn't been spooked out and was still there? I guess they kinda did the same thing in Gatorsburg and those opening scenes are normally just to establish the villain anyway, but it seemed a little inconsistent. And like others I'm wondering who threw the Manual out the window. I'd suspect Cassidy, but then she would've had to beat the gang back to Crystal Cove to put those pictures in Velma's room. Of course there's no reason to think the Gang went back to her place first thing, but still makes me wonder. Overall though I loved the big haunted mansion on a high-mountaintop, snowy theme, and all that. Great episode. Will review the others in their respective threads. Mark

Great legendary episode. i laughed at Scooby and Fred's reaction to Shaggy/Daphne on the seat. Did anyone else laugh at this and when Dean and the cook became engaged?
