Hee-hee! All I could think about when I saw the shocking scene in this episode was Fraphne Lover fainting!! ;D And as I thought, Cassidy/Angel is making her move, via Velma, which makes sense, to warn The Gang. Hey, wasn't this episode reminiscent of "The Shining"? A take on the classic "Snow Ghost" in the original series and last season's "The Creeping Creatures" with the Griswold family making another appearance. Nice touch! I really felt sorry for the antagonist (yet I still laughed at his misfortune, sorry), but geez, why not just leave the place? ;D

I was out running errands with my dad, so I didn't get to see the first 10 minutes of the episode(at least on the Cartoon Network Eastern feed).
That being said, that one scene with Shaggy and Daphne kissing each other might give some hope to the Shaphne fans out there(although I still don't think the two of them would ever work out as a couple).
Actually, from the parts of the episode I saw it reminded me of that 1983 All New Scooby and Scrappy Doo episode "Scoobygeist" only with Fred and Velma(I don't know how many people have seen that episode so that analogy might not be the best one).
The Mystery solving group from the 19th century/early 20th century(the Barringtons) was kind of cool. The fact that the Darrow family being a Mystery fellowship was also out of the blue.
It begs the question though: how many mystery solving groups are there in Crystal Cove?
You have the original Mystery Inc.(with Pericles), the current Mystery Inc., the Barringtons, and the Darrow family. To me, that says either a lot of people in town have a lot of free time on their hands, or there are a lot of fans of mystery stories and detective stories in town...
Of course it could also have something to do with the town's nickname(the Hauntedest Town on Earth).

So I was talking with some friends about which episode was our favorite & I simply replied. "None of them have really wowed me big time yet" THAT WAS THIRTY MINUTES BEFORE I WATCHED THIS EPISODE!!! BEST EPISODE OF THE SECOND SEASON YET!! * SPOILERS* I think this episode had a little something for every Scooby Doo fan! A little (SURPRISING) Shaphne, a lot of Fraphne & LOTS of terror! It was even for the older loving SD fans! They had the old snow outfits on, which I just loved! It was fantastic! I love all the little pieces that are coming together in the mystery! I think we're in for some great new episodes next week! CANT WAIT FOR MONDAY!!

Can you imagine if a Fred-Daphne-Shaggy love triangle was actually taken seriously in future eps? Not only would this be PLAINLY AWESOME, but it'll add another layer of depth to the show. It would add another layer of something but I'd rather not watch a teen-angst-drama soap-opera if you don't mind, the cack-handed relationship stuff in the first series was rather off-putting.

Kevin Michael Richardson is Warner Bros. Animation's new Mel Blanc.
SPOILERS: Aside from that, I wonder how the jackal figure was able to transform into a werewolf-like thingy if he was really someone in a costume. Was that an effect of the hallucination-logs on that family at the start, or an unexplained special costume effect of some sort?

This is the strangest Scooby Doo episode I have watched so far. That's what I was thinking during the whole episode.. "This is strange, this is really strange." I really like it though.

I really liked this episode at first, then I absolutely loved it when that amazing Fraphne scene came, I started to cry I was so happy. And then my heart was broken when it turned out to be Shaggy. I started sobbing. My heart honestly hearts and I'm still crying even though I watched it about 2 hours ago. The writers of this show are really messing with my feelings and I can't handle it anymore.
It's depressing the crap out of me just to read these reviews that mention the whole Shaphne/Fraphne conflict.
Maybe the next episode... or maybe we'll move on to year 44 of the Fred-Daphne-We're-Just-Friends thing.

I have to say I was hock on this ep form the start because of the simple fact of the old school scooby feel to it. Form the start it was like what we use to see in the classic scooby where the gang is going somewhere but get suck into a case. The fact they had the gang in there winter gear form the old scooby doo ep Show Ghost give the little feel of a classic scooby. The reason is this ep is a play off of The Shinng was good reason to watch this ep.I think this was One of best Ep for Scooby Doo MI so far
Tell the truth I saw a Shaphne Momment comming in this ep but not as good as we get. The reason why was because When it was hinted that Daphne was going be the next to be attack the only person she cold run to was Shaggy. When Shaggy and Daphne would kissing I was acting like Daniel Bryan and going Yes,Yes.Yes. The fact it shown that Shaggy did have some feeling for Daphne and love that kiss form her. I do hope there is a follow up to this because it need to be address with them.

Weirdest SDMI episode yet.
I liked the return of the Gatorsburg Family.
It suprised the heck out of me just before the 2nd commercial break when Shaggy and Daphne were kissing. ACTUALLY KISSING. And even though they had been brainwashed, even afterwords Shaggy seemed to want more.
One last question I had, so was Dan Flunke all of the spirits or just the werewolf? That was never explained.

It think they were all various hallucinations from the smoke, not necessarily representative of one person's presence.

This was an interesting episode. I'm not sure that the reason behind the villain was very good. I mean, he could have just left. I understand family obligation, but he could have taken a vacation or something in all those years. It just didn't seem like a good enough reason.
I have to say I was not happy to see Shaggy and Daphne kissing. Not because I prefer Daphne and Fred, mainly because I am not looking forward to a future fight between Daphne and Fred when he finds out she kissed Shaggy. I really could do without all this romance stuff in the episodes. I definitely don't want there to be a love triangle! It's been hinted at since the beginning of Scooby-Doo series that Fred and Daphne like each other. They should just leave it at that!
I agree with j3h that the other people transforming into monsters was just the hallucinations from the smoke. They showed smoke from the fire before each of those things happened.
It was a good episode, but not one of my favorite from season 2.

I am not looking forward to a future fight between Daphne and Fred when he finds out she kissed Shaggy. I thought Fred already found out about that.
