S P O I L E R S There are still four pieces of the Planespheric Disc missing. The two pieces that were found were in places associated with the 2 of 3 major disappearances that happened in Crystal Cove (the Darrow Family and the missing Conquistadors). One of the missing pieces probably has to do with the third disappearance that happened in Crystal Cove that of the missing missionary town mentioned in Episode I. There is also the question of the stuff Pericles stole in "Where Walks Aphrodite". Perhaps each of the three items (the geological reports/the old conquistador shipping manifests/drill bit) lead to each of the last three pieces of the disc. Pericles' background is still unexplained, I wonder if he betrayed the gang for reasons other than the treasure? He ruined the lives of the old Mystery Inc when he conspired with the mayor to get them out of Crystal Cova. I think at this point any chance of him having an altruistic angle is gone. Welcome edlar!

He's probably waiting to be in the actual season two...

I think Mr. E will face the gang in season three (assuming there will be a season three) once the gang is close enough to the treasure. Mayor Jones is (for now) out of the picture. So that leaves E and Professor Pericles jockeying for the big prize.

I cried at the end of this episode! (don`t laugh at me!!lol) So much drama at the end of it!! I cannot wait to see what happens next. Was just a great episode. I feel so bad for Fred Must be hard finding out news like that. And the thought of scooby being sent off to a farm Poor Scoob and Shaggy.

I just realized that Pericles has the two planespheric disc pieces that have the circle in them. By looking at a screen shot of the scroll, they are the only two pieces that have that circle.

OMG! What an episode! I watched it as it aired, which doesn't usually happen. I LOVED that Scooby said "Scooby-Dooby-Doo" at the end. It fit so well. The storyline is amazing and I can't wait to see what season 2 brings! Was this the first time a villain ever helped the gang? Or was it just because it was the mayor and he raised Fred and couldn't let anything happen to him? (if this was already answered, sorry. I haven't read the rest of the posts yet.)
I'm already going through Scooby withdrawl and can't wait for season 2 to start!

yes this was probably just because ioit was the mmayor. what if instead off just bringing the gang back together, he made it better. its the perfect segway to adding a sixth member to the gang imo. Scooby Finds a girl dog at the farm who escapes with him, then they go find Shaggy and slowly begin the process of rebuilding the gang and going after pericles. given all that has happened, they will be less trusting of adults, and will cling more tightly to each other. plus having another girl to talk to regularly besides Daphne would help velma become less of a loner, even if in fact the girl happens to be a dog.

I agree that velma and scooby will be the first to meet up however I think scooby will get velma who will help him get shaggy in process resolving their conflict building the foundation for a shelma relation ship to evolve. They will then get daphne and in turn find fred who is out on the road. Who willcsee that the gang going after him as a sense that they are his real family and the resolve to figure it out together.
My two cents

I feel incredibly stupid saying this after seeing this episode weeks ago and just now realising it.
Its a double mystery. Mr. E and Angel both knew Fred's dad wasn't Fred's dad. They knew who the freak was. They set that up somehow.
Thats not what I mean though. The Sheriff and Brad Chile have the same chin line and streaks in there hair at the same spot. How did we not notice that? Or was it just me? It seems almost to obvious. Which would mean the Sheriff's mother would have to be in hiding also. Since the town knew who Brad's mom was it can't be his real mom. The mayor or any of them could have found out if it was someone pretending to be his mom who lived there for awhile. His "mom" has to be Judy Reeve's.
Fred's parents have to be The Mayor and his "mom"

The Sheriff? unlikely, given the vengence with which he has harrased the gang thoughout the first season. there would be some ' tells' if he was related to fred during the season, and Velma would have picked up on it and mentioned it at some point that there were similarities between Fred and the Sherriff..

I concur as ricky(mr. E) even told angel that the rest of the old gang won't move a muscleas long as fred jones is around...which he isn't anymore!

I noticed something while I was watching this episode, at the very start when The Freak appears and says the treasure is his, Pericles doesn't turn around and say something like, "Who are you?" He says, "You!" Like he knows about the Freak, possibly even who the Freak is. Maybe I forgot something from the show that answers that, but I honestly don't remember so.... just putting that out there in case that could be a clue for something.

Oh, I think Pericles knew who the Freak was, and was about to blurt it out until the Freak hit him. Recall they worked together to get blackmail on the original Mystery Inc. It's no stretch for them to let in each other's plans?

Ah, but the Freak confronted the original Mystery Inc. before. Did Pericles know he was Jones at the time or did he know beforehand and just kept it a secret from the others (much like Velma keeping Angel Dynamite's real identity a secret from her pals)?
