The irony is that he got away with it, too. ;D The episode was actually what I expected. he didn't completely get away with it, he ended up being buried alive again. True, but my point was that he wasn't arrested by Sheriff Stone. Mystery Inc. meddled, but didn't bring an obviously demented Danny Darrow to justice.

SPOILERS! This episode was really awesome, it was one of my favorites. I'm glad the villain was real this time. Isn't the villain always real? I thought it was the ghosts that weren't.

Well, it wasn't a human in a rubber ghost mask this time, and that's what made the episode stand out. It was an episode that floored me, right down to the denoument. Darrow's last words--"I hope it gives you more pleasure than it did me" gave me chills.

Did anyone notice the octagonal shape that was in the middle of the Darrow living room? It has a rug over it, and a trap was set around it. I think that the pizza-slized looking puzzle piece is one of eight and that when they all fit together something wild is going to happen.
It is possible that 8 is a magic number for events to happen. 4 original Mystery Inc + 4 SDMI (minus their mascots) = 8. Dejavu Mystery Solver's State Finals. The pets were separate.

I just watched this episode, and WOW! It was awesome! It was really intense! Funny how all Fred cared about was the traps. I think this one is my favorite episode so far!

I haven't seen the latest episode yet. It's hard not to watch them. I think I've already spoiled myself too much

If you have your DVR set to tape this, make sure it doesn't see it as a rerun. My DVR was going to skip it because the air date is the date it aired in Canada, so it didn't pick it up as a new episode.

Yeah, but long after you're complaining about how long it's been since anything new came out, and why they're making us wait so many months for the next season, we'll still be enjoying 'first runs'. ;D Mark

This was a great episode, and it's cool to finally have one devoted entirely to the Mr. E mystery.
I have a feeling this isn't the last we've seen of Danny Darrow. He was pretty creepy. So was the house. Some great animation.
That puzzle piece is probably the most interesting clue they've found since that locket from the series premiere. Always underground.
I've never seen Saw or LOTR so I didn't catch those references.

Hm--that's not "Manor", as opposed to "Island"? I saw tonight where Doo probably got that from. I was scanning through Cartoon Network on DirectTV and they listed it as Island rather than Manor. Mark

The episode is an excellent one, but I disagree that we will see Danny Darrow again. I think he died in the collapse. This is the classic trope of "redemption equals death" since he saw the error of his ways and gave up the Piece to the gang.

Rewatched this one too, and have to say this may be one of my favorite episodes.
This was a truely interesting mystery all around, and felt more like a 'classic' episode in many ways. Maybe because the gang get split up and then run into each other again.
But is was also one of the most scary and riveting eps, as Scooby goes. All the deadly boobytraps they had to get past, and the narrow escapes. And one of the most spooky and creepy mansions we've seen. When the gang was trying to escape at the end between the walls, and Danny was ramming that fireplace poker through the walls trying to stab them, was one of the most riveting scenes yet.
That and the ending that has more of a message than most Scooby eps, and a 'villain' you come to like and feel sorry for by the end was really different.
All in all this was one of the more serious episodes overall we've seen, and sorta got back to the somewhat 'darker' feel of the early SD:MI episodes when the series first started.
A great ep and one I'll watch again for sure.

I liked this one because it seemed dark and spookier like Zombie Island. I did not see the golom reference until I read it on here. I saw the saw reference-even though I haven't seen the film before.
