The events were watched with interest by a pair of people in a car parked in the shadows. The driver turned to the back seat passenger who was surrounded by total darkness. "Boss they found the projector just like you said they would. They're heading back now." "Good, tell the boys to get ready, it's time to pay Miss Dixie a little social call."

Fred: "Great Job Shaggy and Scooby. So, a projector is out here in the middle of the woods, but near a path everyone will pass. So, lets look around for a cable, this thing doesn't have batteries!" ** Scooby finds a black colored outdoor electric wire in the nearby brush ** "Great job Scoob! Where does this lead?" said Fred. The gang follows Scooby through the brush to a lamp post nearby. "Okay, so, this is wired into this lamp post! That's not your everyday criminal who pluggs things in. Somebody knows something about wiring electricity. " Fred continued "Gang, lets get this back to the Mystery Machine. Lets Document this and show the Sheriff and Mayor what we have so far.".

we'll need more than this, though, its an interesting start, but we need more than a hologram projector in a cemetery, we need to find out about the locals, and that company doing, 'excavations' Velma said.

Shaggy and Scooby went to interview some of the excavation company employees, while Velma, Fred and Daphne went to the Mystery Machine. "Hi sir," Shaggy said to one of the employees, "I was wondering what you've heard about some of the hauntings around here." "You must be joking, there's no such thing as ghosts" commented the employee. "And sir, why are you doing "excavations" on this fort?" Shaggy asked. "Because we were hired to." The employee said, starting to be ticked off by Shaggy and Scooby's questions. "Can you give us more information?" Shaggy asked. "Listen kid, don't be meddlin' around here in my business. I suggest you and your friends do some sightseein' around here and stop stickin' your nose where it doesn't belong." the employee stated angrily. When Shaggy and Scooby got far enough away from the employee, Scooby said "Well, re roesn't friendly." "No, he wasn't. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he had something to do with those wanted posters we saw." Shaggy said curiously.

Again, the gang went their separate ways; Fred went to see the Sheriff, Daphne went to the foreman, Velma went to see the mayor, and Shaggy and Scooby went to interview some of the locals. Sure enough, Shaggy and Scooby found a local and began to interview him. "What do you know about the fort?" Shaggy said. "Nothing, other than to stay far, far away from it." replied the local, looking as if he were frightened. "Because it's haunted?" asked Shaggy. "Of course! It's rumored that anyone who goes in, never will come out." the local said. Shaggy and Scooby continued to interview more locals, asking them the same questions. All of them basically said the same thing, that just recently, a company started excavations, and that no one goes to the fort at night. "All of the locals seem too scared to reveal anything about the fort." Shaggy said. "I think the best thing we can do now is go meet Velma at the Mayor's office, maybe he'll be brave enough to reveal something." Shaggy's watch alarm started ringing. "5 o'clock. Almost time for Dixie's show. We'll ask the mayor a few questions first, then meet Dixie at the showboat....."

At the showboat Dixie was pleased to see the crowds arrive, the show offering people a moment of escape from the strange events that had plagued them for the past few days. A group of well dressed individuals came on board and booked the most expensive seats available. Dixie was thrilled, a few days of business like this was what she needed. She felt obliged to greet these particular guests and was overjoyed to find that not only were they big spenders, they were just as generous with their manners and was soon lost in pleasant conversation discussing the history of the showboat and how she'd come to Vicksburg and the recent haunting at the fort. Dixie was full of praise for Scooby and his friends and expressed confidence that they would get to the bottom of the case. She let on that the gang were staying here so as to be closer to the mystery. At that revelation a small group of individuals slipped through a door marked 'private - no admittance' into the heart of this ship, where Dixie had her rooms, as did the gang..

After Shaggy and Scooby picked up Velma from the mayor's office and the rest of the gang in the Mystery Machine, the gang headed to Dixie's show. Suddenly, a tree fell in the road, and the gang couldn't get through. "Like, I guess we'll have to drive the long way." Shaggy said. Fred turned the Mystery Machine around. Eventually, as they were almost to Dixie's show, another tree fell in their way. "Roh no! Rot another tree!" Scooby gulped. "Rhat do re do?" asked Scooby. "Like, I don't know, but I don't think those trees fell there by accident." Shaggy said.

Dixie soon excused herself to get ready for the performance, not noticing the shadowy figures departing from the privates chambers ' they had left a little 'present' behind... - The mayors says the group doing the digs ' is Ancient Conservation Incorporated. they've preserved some Cambodian temples, as well as Indian ruins in the Arctic' Velma said as she read the file Mayor Nesbitt had given her.

"Interesting...we'll have to do some more information on them later tonight. We'll plan to go back to the temple late at night after Dixie's show. Maybe we can see who or what is behind the hauntings." Shaggy mentioned. Finally, the gang managed to find a back road to the show that hadn't been blocked, but only 15 minutes before the show."Rixie's show is ralmost starting!" Scooby said. "Great, we better get to our seats before the show starts." Shaggy said.

Dixie was going through last minute preparations, and humming the tunes she was going to sing. the seats were quickly filling up.. there was going to be an excellent turnout. Dixie hadn't seen this level of attendance at her shows in years, and it brought a big smile to her face. ' Gotta sing well and dance well." she thought to herself as she finished surveying the stage.. she didn't see the gang in their seats but hopefully that would change.

As the rest of the Gang took their seats, Fred planted his listening devices around the showboat. The devices have different channels and Fred can listen to them via his headset and smartphone. Fred joins the Gang at their seats. "Okay Gang, things are all in place, lets watch the show!"

the show began and as Dixie began to sing, it became evident that she was a very gifted singer. Dixie had a powerful voice with a large range and she made the audience rise and fall with every note. the show went off without a hitch and Dixie saved the best for last, doing a cover of 'the winner takes it all' and brought the audience to its feet as she finished. ' your cousin.. is amazing Scooby ' Velma said ' she can flat-out sing! I had no idea she was this...this GOOD.' _ Dixie bowed to the crowd, fighting back tears as she took in the applause and cheers..

"Reah, she's an amazing singer." Scooby commented. Everyone began to bow and cheer. Suddenly, Scooby started pointing over behind the curtain. "What is it Scoob?" asked Shaggy. "Romeone's behind rhe curtain!" Scooby yelped.

Dixie was unaware of the danger she was now in. as the curtain fell, the lights suddenly went out.. everyone was thrown into darkness, and there was a chorus of startled yells and shouting.. suddenly Dixie was grabbed from behind and a bag was dropped over her head.. ' you are invited to be our guest miss Doo' a cold voice hissed, as a shadowy figure dragged her off the stage..
