Remember the "go west Scooby-Doo" and "Football ghost" movies we heard about years ago that never came to be? Yes, I remember hearing about those two movies. Didn't they originate from Wikipedia? I honestly don't recall where it started from, but it spread around quite a bit.

I find it interesting that Rick said "Maniacal Mecha Mutt" will have a "release exclusively on DVD". Does that mean it will not be on Blu-ray? I'm going to guess right now that "the Phantom" and "the Scarecrow" will be special episodes. It's a big prediction, I know, but I am making it anyway. I think when they said "it will be released exclusively on DVD" they just mean its a direct to video project that they stated simply.. I would be surprised if it does not get a BluRay release. I agree with the prediction for Phantom & Scarecrow will be "specials" opposed to full length DTVs. It would not surprise me if these generic titles ("Scooby-Doo and the scarecrow" for example is pretty bland) are place holders for the projects and they ultimately get titled whatever the name of the DVD compilation set is called that they each get included on (ie: Spooky Games). Like maybe the Scarecrow one is on a Halloween or Fall collection for next year. Heck, the phantom one could be on a collection in the first half of 2013 (valentines day? Spring or Easter? July 4th?) Two films and two specials on two compilations is not really out of line to all be released in one calendar year.

Nice! Lae, do you want to start a specific individual thread for this movie in our "movies" section and include the link to the trailer since you found all the info first?

I wonder why so many movies are coming out? It used to be 1 a year! Sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh! We don't want them to go back to 1 a year ;D Unfortunately it might be because there won't be a tv series next year other than perhaps the last 11 mystery inc's if they haven't aired by the end of 2012. So two DTVs and two compilations (each with a new special episode) doesn't sound like WB is stretching themselves too thin or too out of line for a release strategy....one ~$20 DVD release each quarter of 2013

I guess that's good news for people who don't really like SD:MI...

Yeah, they did. I'm not sure if these are real, the phantom one sounds fake. Either that or they've just run out of ideas, they've had a million phantoms already in Scooby.

Do you think it would be good to start new threads? I was thinking that this thread could be used for information updates and pre-release discussion.

Do you think it would be good to start new threads? I was thinking that this thread could be used for information updates and pre-release discussion. Now that there is a trailer for the blue falcon one, I think that can get its own thread started. We know it's real and it's next after Big Top. Info should be coming pretty quickly for it over the next few months. And it's own thread would be best for putting that stuff and our own expectations and hype. This tread is great for speculating about the other projects you found....like we don't even know if two of them are specials or full movies? Or if the titles are finalized. So lots to guess about and search out. As each of those are officially announced, I would suggest getting each one of them breaking out into their own thread to shine in.

I'd say Mecha Mutt is probably something different. I can't see them doing 2 Blue Falcon related DTV projects so soon. It's probably an evil robot dog thing. I don't know. If it is a 2-part movie as j3h speculates then releasing them close together might actually make sense. They'd probably want to resolve any cliffhanger from the Blue Falcon movie before releasing something else entirely unrelated. I think in that situation, both movies in the same year would make sense. To me, Blue Falcon in one movie and the word "Mutt" in the very next seems too much of a coincidence. But who knows. Guess we'll have to wait till the end of the Blue Falcon movie to find out! Gee, now I really need to catch up on the last few SD:MI eps. Haven't watched the Blue Falcon ep yet. Sounds cool though.
