That is odd. Maybe they are trying to make some kind of artsy deceptively simplistic analogy which I'm just not quite grasping. More than likely when they chose the name, it wasn't to cater to the types of folks who frequent a Scooby-Doo fan site

It has nothing to do with Scooby!! Maybe they named it that thinking it would get more hits because people will find it when they search for Scooby?

No offense to our pup Scooby, but they would probably get more hits if they named it "The Kardashian" if Internet visits was what they were after.

That's funny! I always look for Scooby collectibles on craigslist to add to my collection, and it amazes me what comes up when I type 'Scooby' in the search. A lot of the time the items have nothing to do with Scooby at all and people just do that to attract more people. One guy is selling a newer Ford van and put in the ad it is a 'Scooby Gang' van. Another ad from the same guy says "Scooby/Shaggy van' But the van is nothing like the Mystery Machine in any way. The only similarity is that it is a van! Definitiely not a Chevy G-10.

What confuses me is that they seem to completely ignore the dog/show Scooby-Doo's existence. It's like they just made up the name for the lamp and there is nothing else called "Scooby-Doo" in the world!
